The beta includes NA, SA, EU, and AS server regions. Once a region is selected for this test, it cannot be changed during the beta.

Pick the region closest to where you want to play.

7

Expect queues during scaling

The beta can use a queue system while the team scales server capacity and gradually allows more players online.

Wait in queue if the servers are under load.

8

Plan around the beta wipe

Progress reset

All progress made during the beta test will be wiped before the full release.

Treat the beta as testing, not permanent progression.

Drakantos Codes and Rewards

Drakantos Beginner Guide

Drakantos replaces traditional custom classes with hero-based characters. During beta, new players can test early progression, PvE content, PvP systems, shared account progression, and build customization through orbs, artifacts, trophies, and temporary beta rewards.

1

Request access first

Go to the Steam page and press Request Access for the Drakantos Playtest. Selected players receive access through Steam, and previous beta access remains active.

Use the same Steam account you want to play on.

2

Download and pick your region

After access is granted, download the game through Steam and select a beta region. Available regions are NA, SA, EU, and AS, and the region cannot be changed during the test.

Choose the region where your friends will play.

3

Choose a hero instead of a custom class

The beta gives all players access to 15 heroes from the start: Liam, Marly, Zeugladius, Reya, Yura, Ojore, Thomas, Byron, Iris, Ozul, Faendar, Arryn, Orbryn, Yuki, and Korz.

Try multiple heroes early because Drakantos is built around hero swapping.

4

Understand hero progression

Hero level and gear do not carry over between heroes, but there is account-wide cross-progression. Artifacts, trophies, their upgrades, mounts, pets, and cosmetics are shared across the account.

You can build a pool of heroes for different bosses, missions, and PvP modes.

5

Learn the action combat controls

The current combat system is fully action-based with no target system. Left click is the basic attack, right click is the special attack, skills are aimed with the mouse, and the character faces the mouse direction when attacking.

Use mouse aim for attacks and expect the game to feel different from the earlier tile-based beta.

6

Use useful beta inputs

Press the mouse wheel to open the ping wheel, press Tab to open the scoreboard, and press Ctrl + R to report bugs directly in-game.

These shortcuts are useful in PvP testing and group play.

7

Choose PvE, PvP, or both

The beta includes PvE content from the previous beta and a PvP-focused test with Arena maps and modes. PvP players can test Control, Escort, and Assault-style objectives, while PvE players can still test early progression and gameplay changes.

Use PvP and PvE activities to earn Beta Boxes during the test.

8

Treat beta progress as temporary

All beta progress and temporary beta reward items reset after the test, including closed-beta Twitch rewards.

Use the beta to learn heroes, controls, and builds rather than to save permanent progress.

Drakantos Heroes Guide

The May closed beta gives all players 15 heroes from the start. Drakantos also lists more than 20 playable heroes overall, with hero swapping, shared account systems, orbs, artifacts, and trophies creating different build paths for each character.

Drakantos Hero Tier List

Drakantos uses a hero-based class system where each hero has unique abilities, lore, and personality. During the closed beta, 15 heroes are available from the start, and the current best approach is to choose by role, comfort, and build options rather than chasing one fixed damage meta.

Tier S

Best Early Beta Comfort Picks

Yuki

Dungeon clearing | solo play | crowd control

Yuki is a mobile tank-style kitsune who uses agility, evasion tools, ice powers, and strong crowd control. Early beta discussion also highlighted her AoE clearing as comfortable for dungeon runs.

Tier A

Strong Utility and Team Picks

Marly

Co-op missions | support play | AoE pressure

Marly is a priest-style hero focused on healing, holy shields, and AoE attacks. She is a strong pick for players who want team value without giving up active combat.

Liam

Beginner play | defensive uptime | boss mechanics

Liam is a knight-style hero with defensive value. Community Q&A notes describe his ultimate as a defensive tool with damage reduction and invulnerability during the animation.

Tier B

Balanced Beta Roster Picks

Zeugladius

PvE missions | boss testing | build experiments

Zeugladius is part of the confirmed 15-hero beta roster and is best evaluated through the new action-combat system, orbs, artifacts, and trophies.

Reya

hero swapping | mission variety | build testing

Reya is part of the confirmed beta roster. Use her to test how different hero kits feel under free movement and mouse-aimed combat.

Yura

PvE missions | open-world play | hero pool building

Yura is part of the confirmed beta roster and fits the account-wide hero system where players can unlock and swap heroes instead of creating new characters.

Ojore

PvE missions | team composition | build testing

Ojore is part of the confirmed beta roster and can be tested with shared account systems such as artifacts, trophies, cosmetics, mounts, and pets.

Thomas

mission runs | hero variety | PvP experiments

Thomas is part of the confirmed beta roster. Try him across PvE and Arena to compare how his kit performs in different objectives.

Byron

dungeon runs | party testing | combat feel

Byron is part of the confirmed beta roster and should be tested with the updated full action-combat controls.

Iris

party play | build variety | PvE testing

Iris is part of the confirmed beta roster. She is useful for players who want to compare hero mechanics across missions and PvP modes.

Ozul

PvE missions | hero collection | build experiments

Ozul is part of the confirmed beta roster and can be tested with beta boxes that unlock orbs, artifacts, and trophies.

Faendar

PvE progression | team testing | hero swapping

Faendar is part of the confirmed beta roster and fits the game's multi-hero account progression design.

Arryn

mission variety | PvP trials | build testing

Arryn is part of the confirmed beta roster. Test different orb, artifact, and trophy combinations to shape the playstyle.

Orbryn

hero pool building | dungeon runs | PvP map testing

Orbryn is part of the confirmed beta roster and can be used to compare hero performance across Arena maps and mission objectives.

Korz

PvE testing | PvP trials | account progression

Korz is part of the confirmed beta roster and benefits from the same shared account systems as other heroes.

Tier C

Harder Early Control Picks

Ranged and aim-heavy picks

experienced players | mouse-aim practice | PvP testing

Some early beta feedback found archer-style gameplay harder under the older movement feel. The newer beta uses free movement and mouse-aimed action combat, making ranged control a key area to retest.

Drakantos Builds and Skills Guide

Builds in Drakantos are not limited to a single hero skill bar. A hero has a core kit, then orbs, artifacts, trophies, equipment, and account-wide progression give players more ways to change playstyle across PvE and PvP.

Hero Core Kit

Your main class identity, abilities, lore, and combat feel.

Pick a hero based on the content you want to play, then swap heroes freely from your account instead of creating a new character.

Orbs

Hero ability behavior and skill customization.

Use orbs to change how a hero's existing skills play. During beta, Orb Boxes can give hero-specific orb choices.

Artifacts

Additional active skills that expand your combat options.

Equip artifacts to add new active tools for damage, utility, defense, or PvP adaptation.

Trophies

Passive abilities that support your build direction.

Use trophies to add passive effects that match your hero role, mission goal, or PvP strategy.

Equipment

Hero-specific power and combat progression.

Level and gear are managed per hero, while later shared systems reduce repeated endgame farming.

Shared Progression

Account-wide systems such as artifacts, trophies, upgrades, mounts, pets, and cosmetics.

Build a hero pool over time. Once one hero reaches the required level and power, endgame accessories become shared.

Beta Boxes

Temporary beta access to orbs, artifacts, and trophies.

Open Orb Boxes, Artifact Boxes, and Trophy Boxes to choose 1 item from 3 options and test different builds quickly.

Drakantos Dungeons and Missions Guide

Drakantos combines open-world exploration with instanced mission and dungeon content from the Adventurers' Guild. Missions are built around changing objectives, enemies, bosses, rewards, and special events so each run can feel different.

Drakantos PvP Guide

Drakantos includes several PvP paths, from structured Arena matches to open-world duels and PvPvE encounters. The recent beta focuses heavily on PvP, free movement, mouse-aimed action combat, and equalized competitive systems.

Structured PvP

Arena

Arena is the main competitive PvP mode and is designed like a mini MOBA inside Drakantos. Matches use 3v3 teams, random map and mode selection, a hero selection phase, and equalized stats.

Arena Mode

Control

Teams fight over control zones. Standing on the zones earns progress, and the first team to fully capture all required zones wins.

Arena Mode

Escort

Each team escorts its own crystal to the final point while trying to stop the enemy crystal. The crystal moves when allies are nearby and stops when enemies contest it.

Arena Mode

Assault

Assault works like a MOBA mode with minions, towers, and a core. A center-map buff appears every 3:30 and grants 25% attack for 60 seconds.

Casual PvP

Open-World Duels

Players can send duel requests to other players in the open world. This is useful for testing skills, practicing matchups, and fighting friends outside formal Arena matches.

Open-World PvP Event

Red Chests

Red chests trigger PvP-focused open-world encounters. After a short gathering window, players fight in a chaotic free-for-all, and the last player standing claims most of the rewards.

Rare PvPvE Mission Event

Adventure Invasions

Adventure Invasions can place two groups into the same mission instance. Teams collect red Erilith crystals, fight demonic enemies, and can defeat enemy players to steal crystals.

Extraction PvPvE

Hellgates

Hellgates combine PvE enemies, loot gathering, and PvP tension. Players enter solo or in groups, decide when to extract, and risk losing collected loot if they die.

Combat Basics

PvP Controls

Drakantos now uses full action combat with no target system. Left click is the basic attack, right click is the special attack, the mouse wheel opens the ping wheel, and TAB opens the scoreboard.
